Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration

Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Join us for a fantastic evening of celebration as Normanton on Soar comes together to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Taking place on Saturday 4 June from 5pm to 9pm (and beyond!), the event will be held on the Village Hall field and marquee, creating the perfect setting for a memorable community gathering.

Enjoy an evening filled with live entertainment, starting with music from Heart of Oak and Alison from 5pm. At 7pm, we’ll come together for a Loyal Toast to Her Majesty, led by Matt Barney, Notts County Councillor, followed by the ceremonial cutting of the Platinum Jubilee cake, kindly made by the WI. The celebrations continue into the evening with a lively disco from 9pm, hosted by Troy Tempo Swingray.

Bring along your own picnic supper or make the most of the on-site BBQ (6–8pm), serving burgers at just £2.50 each. A licensed bar will be available throughout the evening, along with free tea and coffee. There will also be a prize for the best dressed, so feel free to embrace the theme and come dressed in your favourite decade—from the 1940s right through to today.

This is a ticket-only event, with adult tickets priced at £10 and free entry for children under 12. Tickets are available on a first come, first served basis from Lindsey Martin (07540 931330), Dave Smith (07932 643793), or from the Village Shop (open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 11am–1pm).

Come along, celebrate in style, and be part of a truly special occasion for the village.
